Ginger Shot Recipe
Looking for a really nutritious healthy and delicious ginger shot recipe? You've come to the right spot!
Make this nutritious ginger drink to fight away colds/flu and boost your immune system.
It's a great way to flush out your digestive tract and strengthen your stomach.
But just a little warning it is SPICY!
Ginger shots have been on trend recently especially since we have such a huge surge of COVID, flu, and rsv cases this winter season and everyone’s just getting sick.
BUT HOW DOES IT HELP YOUR DIGESTION & ALSO TREAT LUNG HEALTH!
According to Chinese medicine, gut health is always related to your lung and immune system health. The lungs and large intestines have a physical connection through deep pathways in our body. Even in Western medicine, there are more research reports finding that the lungs and intestines are a pair of mutually affected organs. The airways may intrinsically accompany inflammation of the bowel.
So our LUNGS and airways have a DIRECT correlation to our GUT health and vice versa. So if we treat our gut we are also treating our lung pathways.
The lungs inhale air which becomes Qi and exhale carbon dioxide waste. The Large Intestine receives from the Small Intestine, and processes and eliminates digestive waste materials. Both organs are taking what is necessary and releasing what is not needed. (you can also think about that on an emotional level because sometimes when we’re constipated we are also unable to let go of something we need to in our lives)
WHAT ABOUT GINGER? WHY IS IT SO GOOD FOR FIGHTING COLDS/FLUS?
Ginger in Chinese medicine is known to warm the body. We use ginger in our formulas to help treat fatigue, lack of energy, help digestion and it is also used to help inflammation and soothe sore throat.
It's a spicy pungent herb that helps boost immunity to help fight infections that cause sore throats.
But a caution: if you do have a weak stomach it might cause more irritation than good! Be careful with too much ginger!
INSTRUCTIONS
On a clean chopping board, with a knife, roughly peel and cut your pineapple, ginger and lemon.
In a blender, add in your pineapple, ginger, apple cider vinegar, turmeric powder, lemon, and sweetener. Blend until smooth and strain in a nut bag in a pitcher.
Pour the mixture into smaller "shot-like" 4 oz containers. (I got mine here!)
Before drinking, add in a small dash of pepper. Enjoy!
Keep your ginger shots in the fridge in little containers ready for you to drink for up to 5-7 days. But keep in mind the nutrients start to diminish after 48 hours. You can even freeze these as ice cubes and add them to your smoothie!
